I’m a Wife, and Mom with a love of great food.
Growing up in Northeast Florida with deep roots in Oklahoma, Coastal and Southern cuisine have always felt like home to me; bringing warm memories of me and my mom standing in the kitchen, pouring over the family cookbook choosing the perfect dish to serve at the next family gathering.
My love of food doesn’t stop at home, though, as I also inherited my Dad’s sense of adventure and love of travel. From our “Daddy-daughter dates” going out on the boat, fishing and eating what we caught – or driving over an hour to go to a great restaurant, I learned that great dishes can hold memories.
One of my biggest joys is discovering recipes steeped in tradition, and bringing the idea home to infuse with my own flair (and admittedly, a bit of trial and error.) My husband, Josh, is mostly thankful to be my guinea pig, and has urged me to “start writing down what you did – because I want you to make it that way EVERY time.”
I believe that the heart of a home is found around the table, sharing stories and delicious food. This passion for bringing people together through food is the heart of Southern Braised.
